In an effort to support our employees, the owners of Ron*Carter are paying the Weight Watchers enrollment fee for all who are interested in shedding some pounds. These same employees will be enrolled in the company weight loss contest for the remainder of 2010, with cash prizes awarded to top winners. The health (good health) of our employees is vital to the success of our company. So good luck to you all, and remember it’s a lifestyle change, not a quick fix.

Thanks to a Super Bowl bet lost by one of our Finance Mgrs, Apol Rios, the ladies of Ron*Carter were treated to Valentine goodies and picture taking with none other than, Cupid. Cupid worked his magic, and even managed to shoot off a few "love" laced arrows.

There are always those who get lost in the shuffle…who sometimes get overlooked. Who work outside in the heat and cold, do those not so glamorous tasks, but without them we would all be in a world of hurt. They are our heroes, OUR Porters.

To thank our porters, our owners presented them all with a Porter Party Pail stuffed with all kinds of goodies, scratch offs and gift cards.

Thanks to all our employees who so generously donated money to the American Red Cross to help the Haitian people. Our thoughts and prayers go out to you!

The Used Car Managers were awarded a special trophy (a porcelain throne) for not quite meeting the mark for 2009. Basically, their numbers were in the toilet. Gentlemen, it's 2010 and it's time to flush away the bad and begin anew.

All employees attended customer-service focus meetings in January 2010. This was basically a refocus of what is most important to the success of our company: our customers and employees.

As with many companies, Ron*Carter cut back on its annual employee Christmas party. However, we still managed to have a holiday luncheon to say thanks to the employees for their hard work and dedication through a tough year. Thanks also to all the employees who gave so generously again this year to the local Share-A-Toy and Food Pantry Program. Over $6,500 was raised and many toys and food products were purchased. Our employees persevere and it’s nice to know we have such a strong team. Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, and to everyone a Happy New Year 2010!

Gobble, Gobble, was what all the staff at Ron*Carter did to celebrate Thanksgiving. We all have a lot to be thankful for and we look forward to a better and more prosperous and healthy New Year 2010!

Our Vets are the greatest! Ron*Carter supplied a hearty BBQ luncheon to its 40 veterans. Each veteran received our own version of a ration pack and all were treated with a beautiful “Letters from War” song from one of our very own employees, Sonya Cloyd-Atkins. She actually brought many of us to tears. We just can’t thank our own men and women and all the rest of the men and women enough for the sacrifices you made, and the roads to freedom you paved for each one of us. We love you, thank you, and may God Bless you always!

Every Friday in the month of October, our employees will be “donning” pink in support of Breast Cancer Awareness. For a $5.00 donation to the “cause” our employees can also wear jeans. All proceeds will be sent to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.

Getting trim for the upcoming holidays were on the mind of some of our employees when we launched the 1 ½ month mini weight loss program. Those that qualified at the end of September got their name placed in the jar. And here are our winners: Anthony Merchant, Thomas Soliz, Patrick McClellan, Eric Leal. Give them a round of applause…

Yeah! Football season has officially kicked off and our employees are ready for some tailgating! Well, at least some football watching! The super big game (the other term is trademarked and we can’t use it here) is quite a ways away… let’s see if any of the teams represented here make it this year…

Turns out most of the ties weren’t that ugly, old, or unusual. Guess those employee closets get cleaned more than we suspected!

Ice cold water and Gatorade help to quench the thirst of our die-hard technicians! When you’re hot, you’re hot, yeah! And when you’re not, you’re not (La, la, la, la, la, la) (La, la, la, la, la). Boy have our technicians been hot lately! Thanks guys for all you do!

No fireworks, just plenty of Hot dogs! We the people, The Ron*Carter employees, celebrated the 4th of July with a hot, toasty, but very delicious, BBQ.

The 2009 Weight Loss Contest has ended and the following are a few photos of our winners. On average these winners lost 19.63 lbs. Way to go team!

Are our employees healthy??? Well, we try to be. At least some of us!

Those who wanted to participate, received a rather thorough health screen consisting of: echocardiogram, electrocardiogram, abdominal aortic aneurysm ultrasound, bone density, carotid artery ultrasound, lipids and glucose blood screening, etc.

Positives: The bus (screenings) came to us and made it extra convenient for our busy employees, it only cost $50 (Ron Carter paid the rest), and the results will be mailed in 2-3 weeks straight to the employees home. Now that is great service!!!
